Mitel Releases Remote Office Teleworker Solution for IP PBXs

Solution extends secure telephony services to almost any remote office over broadband Internet connections using the company's IP PBXs and 5200 series IP phones.

Mitel Networks Corp. has announced a new version of its Teleworker Solution featuring enhanced networking, management and multimedia functionality for remote workers.

The Mitel Teleworker Solution extends the secure telephony services to almost any remote office over broadband Internet connections using the company's IP PBXs and 5200 series IP phones. Release 3's enhancements include a new optional line interface module for local PSTN connectivity, remote video conferencing, local voice streaming, and new reporting capabilities.

According to Mitel CEO Don Smith, the wide availability of broadband network services has allowed the company to deliver unprecedented rich IP telephony services in telework environments "Mitel Teleworker Solution enhancements now offer businesses the ability to cost-effectively move beyond the basic teleworker paradigm, leveraging their existing network investment to provide the remote worker with the richest multimedia environment on the market today," he said in a statement.
