Mindspeed Technologies Inc. and Viking InterWorks announced the integration of Mindspeed's Comcerto VoIP processors into Viking InterWorks' VRDE1401 family of voice-gateway modules. The integration allows equipment manufacturers to quickly add robust voice services to existing router, enterprise PBX and carrier gateway equipment.

Viking InterWorks is a leading provider of module solutions offered in an easy-to-use, compact, production-ready form factor. The VRDE1401 voice-gateway module uses an industry standard 144-pin small outline DIMM (SODIMM) form factor to provide up to 128 G.711 or 64 G.729ab voice channels in a 1.25-inch-high module, while supporting a cost-effective solution for densities as low as 8-voice channels based on the customer-selected Comcerto processor. Mindspeed's Comcerto VoIP processor offers field-proven, carrier-class voice quality and a comprehensive enterprise-feature set, including conferencing and secure voice transport.

Mindspeed's Comcerto architecture is optimized for VoIP applications demanding both voice density and feature scalability with independent control and signaling and media stream processors.

VRDE1401 serves as a customizable platform for equipment manufacturers supporting specific hardware interfaces that also require fast deployment of robust, proven voice services. To learn more, visit the company at www.mindspeed.com.
