Microsoft has doubled the number of tester slots for its software-plus-services-plus-synchronization platform Live Mesh, from 10,000 to 20,000.At present, Live Mesh is primarily a syncing and remote access tool for Windows Live ID holders. Ultimately, though, the combination of client software, services, and developer tools will enable synchronization among devices ranging from Windows PCs and Macs to mobile devices and Xbox 360s. It will also enable users to share content via the Web, and let developers create Web applications and clients for Web services.

More information, and the chance to be one of the second group of testers, is at www.mesh.com.InformationWeek
