MCI has announced two additions to its suite of enterprise voice over IP (VoIP) solutions intended to give organizations a cheaper and more flexibly path to deploying IP voice.
With Managed IP PBX, customers will be able to outsource their premise-based VoIP systems to Hosted IP Centrex and IP Integrated Access services to ensure high performance, reliability and restoration. Based on Cisco's CallManager technology, Managed IP PBX is a a comprehensive managed IP telephony solution that includes consulting services and support throughout the planning and implementation phase and offers ongoing management and continuous optimization after deployment.
Advantage IP Trunking Service eliminates the need for organizations to maintain multiple access facilities by allowing them to carry data, local and long distance voice traffic through converged access points. MCI provides termination and conversion of voice traffic through its own IP gateways. Consequently, customers are not required to deploy their own premise-based IP to PSTN gateways.
"MCI is helping customers transition to a converged IP environment at their own pace and path," MCI senior vice president of IP Services Nancy Gofus said in a statement. "We know that one-size-doesn't-fit-all and with our new portfolio MCI is well-positioned to help customers simplify the complexity of deploying and operating VoIP services, while eliminating the traditional constraints of migrating to a converged IP environment."
