BOSTON -- Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE: IRM - News), the global leader in information protection and storage services, today announced that its Connected Backup for PC and LiveVault® Server Backup solutions are now available directly to Canadian businesses via a new data center operated by the Company in Toronto, Canada. Now, businesses in Canada can enjoy the benefits of the world's leading PC and Server data protection solutions knowing their data is stored and protected in a Canadian data center operated by Iron Mountain.

In today's global business environment, ever-growing regulations combined with the explosive growth of data, make data protection and recovery a key priority for all organizations, regardless of location. Increased risks, ranging from natural disasters and human threats; to security breaches from viruses, worms and hackers; to the development of a litigious environment demanding quick retrieval for discovery purposes, can also make data protection and recovery extremely challenging.

"Increasing regulations, such as British Columbia's Bill 73 that amended the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, mandated that Governmental agencies in British Columbia in possession of personal data relating to individuals residing in British Columbia must retain such data in Canada," said Pierre Matteau, senior vice president, Iron Mountain Canada. "With the addition of our first Canadian data centers, Canadian businesses now have the comfort of partnering with Iron Mountain to store and protect their data, while maintaining compliance with today's regulations."
