June 15, 2007
AMSTERDAM -- Interxion, the leading provider of carrier-neutral data centre and managed services in Europe, today announced that it has successfully upgraded its data backup and restore infrastructure. All components of the Secure Data Service are fully redundant, including IP-transit, which is multihomed, all the way down to the storage vault, which is replicated to a secondary data centre in a different country 300 km away from the primary data centre.
Since 2003, Interxion has been successfully selling its remote data backup service - Secure Data Service - direct to end-users and through channel partners. Last year the number of Interxion Secure Data Service customers and amount of backed up data has more than doubled. Today, Interxion serves well over 450 businesses and has reseller network with over thirty active resellers in ten European countries. Customer backups range from a few Gigabytes, to multiple Terabytes of data. Data backups are carried out in real-time over the Internet with 128-bit encryption to a highly secure vault at Interxion's data centre. This guarantees complete security of data and applications.
Recognizing importance of customer data availability and security, Interxion has always worked hard to further improve its industry leading data backup and restore service. Replication of data to a secondary site was always available, but as of today all components of the service are redundant, including IP-transit, firewalls, DB-servers, application servers and data storage devices. All equipment is placed in Interxion secure data centres and is being monitored 24/7. Thirty five percent of Interxion direct Secure Data Service customers are also colocation customers of Interxion, ranging from small companies up to large multi-site private equity firms, such as the Carlyle Group.
Interxion Secure Data Service is the most advanced and secure data backup service available today,” said Anthony Foy, Group Managing Director of Interxion. ”We are fully committed to help our customers protect their mission critical data and applications and instantly restore it when required.”
