Interactive Intelligence Upgrades SIP Proxy Server For VoIP

Targeted at distributed contact centers, large enterprises and service providers, Interaction SIP Proxy 3.0 offers security and device support enhancements.

Interactive Intelligence Inc. announced that it is releasing an upgraded version of its session initiation protocol (SIP) proxy server, designed for VoIP deployments. Targeted at distributed contact centers, large enterprises and service providers, Interaction SIP Proxy 3.0 offers a range of significant security and device support enhancements.

The new version of Interactive Intelligence's SIP proxy server now supports transmission control protocol (TCP) and user datagram protocol, providing greater VoIP security and supporting a wider range of VoIP devices. Interaction SIP Proxy 3.0 provides greater VoIP device interoperability by supporting TCP to UDP bridging. The proxy server can be used either with Interactive Intelligence's own products or with third-party IP private branch exchanges (PBXs).

"The latest version of our Interaction SIP Proxy gives customers even better security and survivability capabilities, along with all the advantages they've come to expect -- an easy to install and manage Windows-based product designed for maximum flexibility and affordability," Interactive Intelligence president and chief executive officer Donald Brown said in a statement.

Interaction SIP Proxy 3.0 is available in three versions. The basic version provides SIP proxy and registration functionality, remote management and supports an unlimited number of routing destination entries. The Business Continuity Manager adds TCP support, TCP/UDP protocol bridging and SIP digest authentication, while the top-end version adds load-balancing features.
