HP Signs Outsourcing Deal with Fortum

Fortum Oyj has signed a five-year deal to outsource its information technology infrastructure to Hewlett-Packard Co.

Fortum Oyj on Monday said it had signed a five-year deal to outsource its information technology infrastructure to Hewlett-Packard Co.

Under the first phase, HP, based in Palo Alto, Calif., will manage and support the Finnish energy company's data center and workstation services in Finland, Sweden and Norway. Fortum plans to transfer its IT infrastructure services in other countries to HP in later stages.

The first phase will affect a maximum of 68 employees in Finland and 20 in Sweden. The workers will transfer to HP.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
