CiRBA Version 5.1 provides advanced analytics and collaborative capabilities that enable enterprise views of capacity health
January 30, 2009
TORONTO -- CiRBA Inc., a leader in capacity management analytics software, today announced the release of CiRBA Version 5.1. With Version 5.1, CiRBA provides advanced analytics and collaborative capabilities that enable enterprise views of capacity health for both physical and virtual infrastructure.
This isn’t just about virtualization,” said Andrew Hillier, CIRBA CTO and Co-Founder. “As organizations achieve greater efficiency through the use of virtualization technologies, we see a focus on the challenges these technologies create for enterprise-level capacity management. This includes bridging the gap between physical and virtual environments, and, more importantly, enabling collaboration between infrastructure managers and application owners.”
The widespread adoption of virtualization and consolidation technologies has provided unprecedented opportunities for organizations to increase efficiency within data centers. However, these technologies have had a significant impact on the way capacity supply and demand is managed. Virtual infrastructure is often a pooled resource serving different business users, impacting the roles and informational requirements of architects, application owners, and server administrators. Additionally, to facilitate enterprise level planning efforts, organizations require aggregate views of environments that allow them to manage IT services efficiently and safely.
These challenges cannot be addressed without technology that combines user-centric views with detailed analysis of workload placements, resources allocations, and optimization opportunities. CiRBA Version 5.1 acts as a centralized repository for all capacity data within a data center spanning both physical and virtual infrastructure. CiRBA’s advanced and unique analytics are combined with a new Capacity Manager Dashboard that is explicitly designed to meet the needs of application owners and capacity managers within lines of business. This dashboard includes new Capacity Status analysis and Pending Optimization reports, providing at-a-glance views of the health of IT environments as well as the optimization and refresh activities that have been planned by infrastructure managers. These features enable collaborative decision making between stakeholders on capacity related decisions.
