Just eight months after emerging from stealth, startup Chelsio Communications Inc. has clinched $25 million in Series C funding to support its 10-Gigabit Ethernet server and network adapter technology.

The round was led by Invesco and includes existing investors Sequoia Capital, New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Global Catalyst Partners, Pacesetter Capital, Horizon Ventures, Abacus Capital, and new investor Hotung Capital Management.

The Series C is Chelsios largest single funding round and brings the company’s total investment to $55 million. The firm completed an $11 million Series A in July 2001 and received a further $19 million the following October.
