McDonald's in Japan will start serving up Happy Meals and apple pies to customers paying with cell phones.

It wasn't that long ago when fast-food chains began accepting credit- and debit-card payments, speeding transactions (and slowing arteries). Now McDonald's, the big kahuna of burgers, is about to take things to a whole new wireless level. Thanks to a partnership with Japanese wireless provider NTT DoCoMo, visitors to the Golden Arches in Japan will soon be able to pay for Big Macs and McNuggets with their cell phones. In turn, the companies will be able to track customer spending habits for marketing purposes.

Naturally this raises some unusual security questions. Filet-o-phishing, anyone?
