MILPITAS, Calif. -- Array Networks Inc., a leading provider of optimized and secure universal access solutions, today announced an enhanced version of its SPX Series SSL VPN software, which supports Microsoft's Windows new Vista operating system. Array, as one of the first SSL VPN vendors to deliver Vista support, recognizes the impact Vista will have for existing customers as well as future ones. In addition, Array's SPX product line has been enhanced to seamlessly operate with Microsoft's IE7 browser.
"Two hand-in-hand features of SSL VPN that directly aid business productivity are support for access from non-corporate owned devices, and broad platform compatibility, said Michael Suby, Program Director of Research at Stratecast (a division of Frost & Sullivan). "Even though migrations to Windows Vista and IE7 are in an early stage, their support by SSL VPN solutions is no less crucial than legacy operating systems and web browsers - blocked end-user access regardless of platform is business impacting. Consequently, we believe Windows Vista and IE7 support are "must-have" features in SSL VPNs."Array has established itself as the leader in the secure access market with rich Layer 3 through Layer 7 access from a standard browser. Its Layer 3 VPN provides 3 to 10 times more throughput than competing SSL VPN and IPSec products and is the only true Layer 3 architecture designed specifically for SSL VPN access. In addition, Array is the first SSL VPN vendor to provide a site-to-site solution featuring its unique, patent-pending Resource PublishingTM feature. The SPX Series delivers industry-leading performance and scalability spanning up to 64,000 concurrent users with single digit latency response times.
"We have made changes to our popular Layer 3 access mode due to the extensive enhancements Microsoft has made to Vista from XP. Vista support is important for our existing as well as future customers and want to ensure them that we are committed to protecting their investment," said Jim Greenway, VP of Marketing for Array Networks. "In addition, we have been supporting IE7 browser for several months and customers are very satisfied with the compatibility. The number of customers utilizing this product line continues to grow."
