SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (NASDAQ:AMCC), the global leader in serial RAID storage, showcases support for Mac OS X Leopard on its 3ware(R) Sidecar, an external SATA II hardware RAID solution, at this week's Macworld Conference and Expo. Show attendees will get a $100 discount when they purchase the desktop storage solution on the 3ware online store in AMCC's 3ware booth, #2532. The Macworld(R) discount is in addition to a previously announced year-end price reduction. These price reductions, coupled with newly announced education buyer incentives, are designed to make high performance RAID protection available to a wider audience, which now includes students and home enthusiasts.

The 3ware Sidecar is a powerful desktop RAID storage solution designed for creative professionals and enthusiasts who care about their data and just can't risk losing it. With capacities up to 4TB, users can store and protect tons of their photos, songs, videos, illustrations, web pages and documents at speeds that are significantly faster than Firewire or USB.

An in-booth product demo will feature Mac OS X Leopard(TM) and Apple's Time Machine(R) automatic backup utility. Time Machine keeps an up-to-date copy of everything on your Mac which can then be stored and RAID protected on the 3ware Sidecar.

WHAT: AMCC exhibits widely popular 3ware Sidecar RAID solution, offers $100 discount to Macworld attendees who purchase the system via the 3ware online store (http://store.3ware.com).
