ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Alternative Technology, a leading specialty distributor of thin-client/server-based computing, edge infrastructure, virtualization, and government-approved security solutions, today announced the company is deploying Packeteers PacketShaper® appliances across its organization to ensure the optimal performance and reliable delivery of its centralized Citrix application traffic. The PacketShaper appliances enable Alternative Technology to prioritize its business-critical Citrix traffic over all other applications with its existing WAN links, in order to maintain the highest levels of workforce productivity and to suppress recreational traffic from draining off precious network bandwidth.

“We rely on centralized Citrix applications as one of the primary drivers of our business operations. As a result, we have to maintain the highest levels of application performance and reliability,” said James Paull, IT manager with Alternative Technology, Inc. “I’ve been a PacketShaper user for years, so I know first hand how these appliances can ensure bandwidth priority and quality-of-service for specific applications, such as Citrix.”
