SOMERSET, N.J. -- AEP Networks today announced the appointment of Fred Manhartsberger to the position of EVP Sales & Marketing. Fred takes responsibility for all sales and field marketing activities. His responsibilities include policies that drive channel management worldwide, with particular focus on driving revenue across all products and all verticals (systems integrators, commercial and government channels).

Prior to joining AEP Networks, Fred was the Senior Vice President & General Manager of EMEA for Sybase Corporation. Previously, he held executive level positions at Martin Marietta in the area of systems integration and government operations. He has extensive experience in sales and marketing worldwide.

“AEP Networks anticipates a rapidly increasing demand for its complete network access control and identity management solution as the company’s reputation for superior network security technology grows,” said Pat Donnellan, CEO of AEP Networks. “Fred’s expertise will be crucial as the company embarks upon this next stage of growth.”

The company has also named Paul Vick as Director of Global Channel Sales. He will be responsible for driving revenue through sales channels in the company’s strategic markets. In addition, Paul will revamp the global channel partner program to better represent AEP Networks’ full product suite and bolster existing channel relationships among distributors, resellers and system integrators.

Paul has over 25 years experience in the software sales industry, particularly in the network and security solutions space. Paul comes to AEP Networks from Fiberlink Communications where he was the Director of Channels responsible for building a brand new channel program for the United States. Channel sales grew from zero to 20% of total company revenues in just two years. Paul also directed worldwide channel sales for the Lucent Technologies’ VitalSoft unit. There he created a new software channel program, recruiting and developing 400+ partners worldwide. Prior to Lucent, he held senior positions in sales and business development with, Quadritek Systems, RSA Security and Apertus Technologies.

“I am delighted to be part of a company that has several industry-leading products well suited to – and well received by – specific vertical and geographic markets,” said Fred. “We are structuring the sales and marketing organization to optimize our ability to take our products to these markets.”
