SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Addonics Technologies www.addonics.com today announced a SATA hard drive adapter that allows users to convert any 2.5-inch hard drive-based PC or equipment into a solid state Compact Flash system.

The new Dual CF - SATA HDD adapter is the newest Addonics solution for creating a large capacity SSD (solid state drive) with up to 2 Compact Flash cards via a SATA or USB connection. The 2 Compact Flash (CFI/II) cards can be configured as RAID 1, RAID 0 or combined as one large Compact Flash drive.

This Dual CF - SATA HDD adapter comes with a mounting bracket installed and can be used as a direct replacement for a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive. As a result, any equipment, such as notebook computer, that uses a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive can be easily converted to use the low power and shock resistant CF media. Once installed, the CF media appears as an ordinary SATA hard drive to any operating system. The adapter is transparent to the operating system and does not require any drivers to install.

The adapter supports Raid 0 (FAST, Striping), Raid 1 (SAFE, Mirroring), Concatenation (BIG Drive). RAID settings are easily configured with an onboard slide switch.
