WALTHAM, Mass. -- Incipient, Inc., the leading provider of storage virtualization software for Storage Area Network (SAN) environments, and 3PAR, the leading provider of Utility Storage, announced today that the companies have partnered to deliver non-disruptive data migration and utility computing solutions to joint customers. The collaboration comes in response to heavy demand for highly scalable and cost effective Utility Storage with a particular urgency from financial services companies.

With this partnership, Incipient has joined 3PARs Utility Computing partner program and self-certified its flagship product -- Incipient Network Storage Platform™ (iNSP™) software suite -- with the 3PAR InServ® Storage Server family. Additionally, both companies have engaged in a cooperative support agreement.

The iNSP software suite runs on the Cisco 32-Port Storage Services Modules (SSM) with the Cisco MDS 9000 family of SAN switches. This solution combination allows customers to easily deploy storage services such as non-disruptive data migration, network volume management and copy services within their mission critical SANs.

“Cisco is pleased to work with storage solution providers to offer best-in-class solutions for our customers,” said Ed Chapman, vice president of product management, Data Center and Switching Business Unit, Cisco. “The Incipient solution enables Cisco storage networking customers to seamlessly migrate data to 3PAR Utility Storage and benefit from cost-efficient data migration and replication.”
