Systems Alliance Grows Hitachi Data Systems Relationship To Help Clients Reduce Data Storage Cost And Complexity Through Virtualization

BALTIMORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Systems Alliance, a software development firm and systems integrator providing high-value IT and business consulting services, today announced it was expanding its relationship with Hitachi Data Systems to provide clients with more effective solutions for reducing storage cost and complexity. Building on their experiences with clients in the healthcare and media/entertainment sectors, Systems Alliance storage consultants are hosting half-day storage virtualization workshops for CIOs and other IT managers at mid-size and large enterprises coping with exploding volumes of data, challenges with utilization and frustration with incumbent storage vendors.

During the workshop, Systems Alliance architects will walk IT executives through a high-level analysis comparing their as-is storage infrastructure with an architecture optimized for Hitachi Data Systems storage products. The results will highlight potential cost savings gained through reclaimed storage capacity, as well as reductions in power, cooling and management complexity. Workshops are being scheduled through the Systems Alliance Website here:

Storage Shared Service and Clouds
For Systems Alliance, the expanded relationship with Hitachi Data Systems supports the company's interest in providing solutions which are largely vendor agnostic and optimized for the automated data center. The latter approach is useful for clients interested in provisioning storage as a shared service or cloud. For example, organizations with distributed operations or departments generating large volumes of data, where meeting back-up windows is challenging.

With its sophisticated virtualization capabilities, Hitachi Data Systems solutions enable a secure, multi-tenant environment that ensures data privacy and integrity within a shared infrastructure. In addition to streamlining storage management, Hitachi offers a number of key benefits, including:

  • Virtualization of storage from Hitachi Data Systems and other vendors into one pool
  • Thin provisioning through Hitachi Dynamic Provisioning for non-disruptive volume expansion
  • Security services, business continuity services and content management services
  • I/O load balancing to improve application performance
  • Non-disruptive dynamic data migration from Hitachi and other storage systems
  • Advanced data protection capabilities that optimize recovery time objectives

"Data volumes are growing, performance expectations are growing and data management complexity is growing, resulting in a near universal need for storage virtualization," said Ric Hughes, president and CEO, Systems Alliance. "With Hitachi Data Systems, we can help our clients reduce storage-related OPEX and CAPEX, while also improving performance, data protection and security. We're truly excited about the solutions and enhancements we can deliver to clients with Hitachi."
