ScriptLogic Cloak Bolsters NTFS Security, Improves Audits

ScriptLogic Corp., a Boca Raton, FL network administration software provider today released ScriptLogic Cloak, an application that enhances the Windows NT File System (NTFS) by providing increased security, more accurate audits.

Cloak uses what ScriptLogic calls "out of sight"out of mind" filtering to the Windows file system. That means that once Cloak is installed on Windows Servers, users will only see the files and/or folders that they have permission to see.

"In addition to tightening security, Cloak also streamlines the user's experience and provides more accurate auditing of the file system for the security conscious administrator," said Brian Styles, founder and CTO of ScriptLogic, in a prepared statement.

While Cloak is installed to Windows Servers, its functionality can be enabled on individual disk volumes. In addition to filtering network requests on file servers, Cloak can also filter local activity, making it suitable for Terminal Servers and Citrix MetaFrame environments, according to ScriptLogic.

Cloak does not require user-specific configuration or the installation of agents onto their desktops.
