Don McDowell, vice president of server solutions at Forsythe Solutions Group, said Friday he has resigned in the wake of a reorganization at the Skokie, Ill.-based solution provider.
McDowell, who had been at Forsythe for more than 9 years, was the president of Hewlett-Packard's Enterprise Partner Council and was the point man for the solution provider's HP, IBM and Sun Microsystems vendor relationships.
"Forsythe has been working on a realignment of the company because the business model had grown, but the organization really hadn't changed for six or seven years," McDowell said.
As a result of the reorganization, they now they have one person in charge of all products, one person in charge of services and one person in charge of sales, he said. Previously, there were multiple people in those roles.
Forsythe Solutions' president and CEO Eva Losacco wasn't available for comment Friday afternoon. But Losacco said in a statement issued by the company: "Don McDowell's significant experience in the IT industry, and his dedication to developing Forsythe's strong network of vendor partnerships has been an important contribution to Forsythe's growth over the past nine years."A company spokeswoman acknowledged that McDowell's departure was part of a wider company reorganization. William Brennan will lead the company's sales organization as vice president of sales, reporting to Losacco. Brennan most recently served as Forsythe's vice president of sales and product operations.
Michael Qualley will serve as vice president of technology products, reporting to Losacco. He will oversee all of Forsythe's product teams, which work with vendors including Cisco Systems, EMC, HP, IBM, Network Appliance, Nokia, Sun Microsystems. Qualley was previously vice president of support services. McDowell said after Qualley was named to run the product business, he was "disappointed" that he didn't get that position and decided to resign.
Privately held Forsythe is one of HP's largest enterprise solution providers and has seen substantial growth in both its IBM and Sun business in recent years. McDowell declined to give specific revenue numbers on the various product lines.
McDowell said he is exploring new opportunities both with manufacturers and other solution provider organizations.
