QLogic enables HBA-level virtualization in new release of VMware Infrastructure

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. -- QLogic Corp.(Nasdaq:QLGC), a leader in networking for storage and high performancecomputing (HPC), today announced that QLogic(r) SANblade(r) FibreChannel host bus adapters (HBAs) will offer N_Port_ID Virtualization(NPIV) for the upcoming release of VMware Infrastructure, the latestoffering from VMware which will include VMware ESX Server 3.5 andVirtualCenter 2.5. Through its collaboration with VMware, QLogicSANblade HBAs bring the numerous benefits of hardware-assistvirtualization to customers, including enhanced quality-of-service anddynamic provisioning without restrictions on zoning and LUN masking.
