Vasco Announces Digipass 110
Vasco extends full-option, all-terrain strategy by launching Digipass 110
January 30, 2008
OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. and ZURICH -- VASCO Data Security International Inc. (http://www.vasco.com), a leading software security company specializing in strong authentication products, today announced the launch of Digipass 110, the zero-footprint e-signature solution. With Digipass 110, VASCO aims at the large volume e-commerce and retail e-banking markets. VASCO will present its Digipass 110 during its January 30, 2008 Media and Investor Summit in New York.
Digipass 110 combines the benefits of hardware and web-based authentication.
The Digipass secrets are stored on a tiny USB stick, not on a computer. This zero-footprint approach makes the system immune against PC's that are infected with Trojans. The sizes of the USB stick used for Digipass 110 are 43.9 mm x 16.1 mm x 4.3 mm or 1.73 inches x 0.63 inches x 0.17 inches.
A Java applet on the PC creates, together with the secrets stored on the USB stick, time-based one-time passwords that are protected by VACMAN.
Digipass 110 possesses VASCO's renowned e-signature functionality. This allows the end-user to protect online transactions against fraud schemes such as man-in-the-middle attacks. The processing power of the PC, in conjunction with the web-based VACMAN authentication engine, can calculate e-signatures encompassing unlimited transaction data input.
No driver is required.

Digipass 110 is especially suited for large volume deployments in the global e-commerce market and the North-American retail banking sector. End-users get secure access to a network with a Digipass one-time password and are able to use the strongest transaction security in the market, Digipass e-signatures calculated with the processing power of a PC.
Mass roll-out of Digipass 110 is extremely easy. After subscribing to the service, the end-user will receive the USB-stick with the Digipass secrets. He/she will be able to auto-register in approximately 10 seconds, by plugging the USB-stick into his PC. The Digipass secrets can only be used in conjunction with the java-applet that the end-user downloads on his/her PC.
"With Digipass 110, we strengthen our Full Option, All-Terrain product strategy," said Jan Valcke, VASCO's President and COO. "By combining the flexibility, ease of deployment and low Total Cost of Ownership of a web-based authentication product with the enhanced security and long lifespan of a tangible lightweight hardware product, we create a true zero-footprint e-security solution for large-volume deployments in e-commerce and retail banking."
