COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Unitrends, a leading provider of innovative, integrated solutions that protect and restore critical data and systems, today announced the availability of its newest Data Protection and Rapid Recovery 3.1 platform for small and medium businesses (SMB). The new product enables customers to simplify their backup and recovery solutions, with centralized management capabilities, support for an unprecedented 30+ operating systems, as well as additional applications, and integrated solutions for VMware, allowing customers to reduce management costs and increase performance. The company also announced the availability of its higher capacity Multi-Drive Archive System, which can accommodate up to 30 terabytes of uncompressed data per disk set, providing customers with the ability to archive significant volumes with near-instant recovery.
ESG Research reveals that 77 percent of SMB organizations would be very or somewhat likely to rely on a single vendor for their data protection solutions. Unitrends’ disk-to-disk solution addresses backup, archiving, bare metal recovery and electronic vaulting for disaster recovery,” said Lauren Whitehouse, an analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group. “While other SMB products on the market address various aspects of data protection and disaster recovery, Unitrends Rapid Recovery Solutions integrate all the data protection and recovery functionality and management capabilities a SMB needs into one complete and integrated solution.”

“Unitrends’ latest 3.1 release makes its data protection solutions easy to install, easy to support and manage, and easy to sell. Customers will also find the enhanced and intuitive user interface fresh, sleek and appealing,” said Mike Estep, vice president, Information Technology at the Business Equipment Center of Atlanta (BECA). “By continually enriching the breadth and functionality of its solutions, Unitrends clearly aims to provide best-in-class solutions that empower their channel partners.
