SAN FRANCISCO -- Thinstall, a leading Application Virtualization Platform Solution for .NET and Windows/Vista environments, and Provision Networks, developers of the Virtual Access Suite (VAS), the market-leading desktop and presentation virtualization solution, today announced an OEM partnership. Provision Networks has licensed the Thinstall application virtualization technology delivering to clients a zero-footprint VAS client, enabling users to access their virtual desktops and applications from any PC without client installation or administrative privileges. Enterprise clients also have the ability to leverage employee-owned PCs without relying on local Java support or client installations.

This agreement brings together proven technologies to create a unique value Proposition for customers,” said Paul Ghostine, Co-Founder and CEO of Provision Networks. “We are excited to bring this combined solution to the market and continue leading the adoption of virtualization at the desktop, application and systems layers.”

A May 8, 2007 report by Gartner found that while there were only 540,000 virtual machines at the end of 2006, there is a potential for more than 4 million by 2009. Desktop virtualization, the report claims, has the potential to outstrip server virtualization, especially when companies look for ways to better manage IT infrastructure.

“The Virtual Desktop Infrastructure is a superior architecture, with security and stability benefits, and huge savings in operation and administration overhead,” said Henrik Rosendahl, CEO of Thinstall. “This further validates Thinstall’s market strength as the leading Application Virtualization Platform.”
