SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Supermicro Computer Inc., a leader in application optimized, high performance server solutions, today announced the availability of high performance computing (HPC) clusters with Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003. Supermicro and Microsoft have joined forces to offer 1U Twin SuperServer Clusters, which combine with Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 to provide the HPC market with high- density, easy-to-deploy clusters that save energy and reduce operating costs. For those wanting a first-hand look, these clusters will be demonstrated in the Supermicro booth (hall 21, stand A34, booth A1) at CEBIT 2007, March 15-21 in Hannover, Germany.

"Our 1U Twin SuperServer Clusters combine two dual-processor nodes into a 1U form factor to supply space-constrained datacenters with double the computing density of existing 1U installations," asserts Alex Hsu, chief sales and marketing officer at Supermicro. "By working together with Microsoft, we feel confident that these easy-to-deploy SuperServer 6015T-based clusters running Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 will provide customers with enhanced functionality and exceptional value."

"Microsoft is pleased to be working with Supermicro to deliver a cost- effective and high performing solution," said Shawn Hansen, Director of HPC marketing, Windows Server Division at Microsoft Corp. "By delivering optimized hardware that integrates seamlessly into mainstream environments, the Supermicro 1U Twin SuperServer clusters help expand the number of scientists and engineers who can leverage the performance promises of high performance computing."
