STOCKHOLM -- SUN Microsystems and AppGate Network Security, a leading provider of network security solutions, have entered an agreement whereby SUN will resell AppGate's security product range to their customers around the world.

AppGate's unique security solution will now form part of SUN's offerings in dynamic infrastructure solutions for the Data Centre, Mobile/Wifi Security solutions, Network Admission Control, and as a complementary function for Identity management solutions. The AppGate products provide segmented secure internal networks with minimal complexity.

This agreement further strengthens the close relationship that AppGate and SUN have developed over a number of years. AppGate and SUN have a history of joint installations for several customers including some of the largest access implementations in the world.

AppGate selected SUN servers to be the platform for the AppGate solution as they meet the high reliability standards demanded by many of AppGate's customers in enterprise, government and defence organisations. SUN is an OEM customer of AppGate, employing AppGate's java/ssh Mindterm capabilities in their Identity management solutions.

"We share SUN's vision for secure network solutions and we are very pleased that SUN has selected AppGate's technology to help deliver that vision. Our joint offerings complement each other and we will in the future see more combined solutions between our companies," says Goran Marby, CEO of AppGate Network Security.
