SNIA Picks Exec Director

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) today announced that Leo Leger has joined the association as executive director. A technology industry veteran with extensive experience in business development, organizational leadership, creative marketing, sales and strategic alliance development, Leger will oversee the association's operations as well as execute against its core mission, vision and values.

"We are very excited to have Leo Leger join as the SNIA's executive director and believe he will serve as an incredible asset as we look to continue delivering value to our members and the industry at-large," said Vincent Franceschini, chairman of the board of the SNIA. "With major trends influencing the storage industry towards further alignments with demands from businesses and applications, Leo is joining us at a key time to support SNIA in addressing the evolving Storage Industry priorities. We believe his insight, expertise and skill-set will help the SNIA provide the standards, technologies and services that organizations need to navigate this evolution."

Leger spent more than 11 years with International Data Group's (IDG) Computerworld working closely with the SNIA to drive the success of the Storage Networking World conferences, and we are confident his new role will help continue and strengthen our relationship with Computerworld. Leger previously held roles in business development at IDG's Internet Commerce Enterprises where he helped develop the exposition and conference business unit and was also the president and managing partner for The Institute for Computer Studies overseeing operations, certification, marketing, curriculum development, recruitment and alliances. Leger has also served as an instructor at Northeastern University and was a recognized sales and marketing leader for Honeywell Information Systems division.
