MELVILLE, N.Y. -- FalconStor Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: FALC), the provider of TOTALLY Open network storage solutions, today announced that the FalconStor® Network Storage Server, powered by the FalconStor IPStor® platform, has been deployed by Safeguard Properties, the largest privately held field services company in the U.S., for storage reliability and data recovery.

The resulting solution is allowing Safeguard to meet their demanding recovery point and time objectives, and has garnered a position as a finalist for Safeguard in Computerworld's Storage Networking World 2008 Best Practices Awards Program. The top winner will be named at Storage Networking World on April 9. The integration was performed by FalconStor partner Chi Corporation to enable Safeguard to strategically meet its storage documentation requirements that have increased by approximately 500 percent over the past two years.

“As foreclosures increase, Safeguard has been experiencing rapid growth and high demand on its data storage infrastructure,” said Michael Manley, chief information officer at Safeguard. “We needed a solution that would scale rapidly and meet tight recovery time objectives to store approximately 500,000 additional photos and documents each week. We are leveraging the FalconStor NSS to host over a hundred terabytes of available disk storage, and we anticipate our storage needs to grow more than 40 percent in the coming year.”
