SAN FRANCISCO -- Riverbed Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:RVBD - News), the performance leader in wide-area data services (WDS), announced today the launch of its Riverbed Certified Solutions Professional (RCSP) program. Riverbed established the RCSP program to provide a means of recognizing individuals who demonstrate competency in the theory, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the RiOS(TM) (Riverbed Optimization System) product suite. RiOS is the software platform that powers Riverbed's award-winning line of Steelhead® WDS appliances.

Riverbed's WDS solutions allow remote employees to collaborate as if they were local and reduce the delay and inefficiencies created by distance and time. Today, more than 2,000 organizations worldwide have selected Riverbed and deployed the company's Steelhead appliances at sites worldwide.

IT professionals who would like to be RCSP certified must take the RCSP certified exam, offered by Pearson VUE, the electronic testing business of Pearson, at one of the company's 4,000 test centers worldwide. Organizations that work with RCSP certified professionals can be assured that they are well-versed in the best practices for the deployment and management of Riverbed's WDS solutions.

"The WDS market offers IT professionals, whether resellers, partners or in-house staff, a tremendous opportunity," said Dr. Steve Smoot, vice president of technical operations at Riverbed. "As technical folks look to the future and the growing importance of application networking, certification by Riverbed, the premier supplier of WDS solutions, will be critical."
