AUSTIN, Texas -- RF Code, Inc., a leader in real-time asset management, today announced the availability of a far-reaching solution giving data center professionals the on-demand ability to know instantly, at any time, the exact location of every one of their computing assets. By automating IT asset tracking in the data center, IT managers now can have an instant” inventory of all their data center assets. That’s because the solution conducts a complete and accurate inventory every few seconds, as opposed to the weeks it usually takes to inventory assets.

Today’s announcement reinforces RF Code’s aggressive move into the IT asset management space. Recently, the company introduced a Bluetooth enabled mobile reader, the first mobile offering to provide distributed inventory and on-demand search applications for IT assets. Now, the company becomes the first to solve the rack level tracking challenge by automating the audit and inventory process.

“With the mobility of today’s IT assets and frequency of those moves, software discovery tools and manual data collection methods simply cannot provide 100% accurate inventories,” said Walter Darrough, of the International Association of IT Asset Managers, Inc. (“IAITAM”). “The automation of inventory and reconciliation processes and the ability to account for every critical asset in real time throughout the data center is a tremendous leap forward for any enterprise change control, audit or security strategy.”
