COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Redemtech (www.redemtech.com), a leading provider of Technology Change Management (TCM) services, announced it has hired Barbara Scott to head a new IT Asset Management consulting practice. The new practice provides assessment and consulting services to improve inefficiencies and address vulnerabilities in asset management practices, and it helps organizations implement measurable processes that close security gaps, increase asset utilization, and improve decision making.

“Many companies invest millions in technology but lack the processes to track those assets through their lifecycle and collect the data required to analyze utilization and cost of ownership,” said Bob Houghton, president of Redemtech. “Under the direction of Barbara Scott, we are able to offer a proven method for assessing asset management practices and implementing processes that enable more effective use of technology and greater cost control.”

Scott joins Redemtech from a FORTUNE 200 financial services company where she served as senior manager for technology operations and established the foundation for a global IT asset management (ITAM) program with responsibility for assets valued at more than $100 million. She has also served in technology and business leadership positions for Data Return, Corporate Express and United Electric. Scott is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and achieved IT Asset Management Certification from the International Association of IT Asset Managers (IAITAM).

“IT Asset Management is just emerging as a core management practice and that creates huge opportunities to improve efficiency, with corresponding reductions in costs,” Scott said. “Redemtech’s strong, consultative relationship with clients and mature, measurable processes for managing IT change, create the ideal business partner for companies looking to bring more discipline, standardization and accountability to IT asset management functions enterprise wide.”

Consulting services will be initiated through a Practice Assessment, which analyzes the maturity and complexity of ITAM processes to uncover inefficiencies and develop a roadmap for implementing enterprise policies and processes. Scott will also work with Redemtech clients to increase the value and utilization of the wealth of data generated by Redemtech as it manages the recovery, refurbishing, secure transport, data destruction and disposition of IT assets.

“For ITAM to mature as a business discipline, enterprises must move toward centralized processes that provide the visibility required to accurately quantify key metrics, such as asset utilization and total cost of ownership,” Scott said.

For Redemtech customer K12, a rapidly growing education company that provides students across the United States with computers used to access their Web-based educational programs, IT asset control and optimal hardware utilization is critical.

“Our business depends on the ability to effectively manage IT assets; however, there are very few resources we can tap into to improve this critical area of our operations,” said Gene Rigoni, senior director of operations for K12. “Redemtech’s Asset Management consulting practice provides the expertise we have been seeking from a partner that we trust.”
