BOULDER, Colo. -- ProStor Systems, a leading developer of removable disk storage solutions, today announced the appointment of storage systems and software industry veteran Robert Williamsen as its vice president of marketing. Williamsen has more than 20 years experience in product marketing, product management and strategy for companies from startups through large enterprises.

In his new role, Williamsen will direct all product marketing and management worldwide for RDXR solutions, the industry's first removable disk backup and archive technology that provides enterprise-class data protection for small and midsized businesses. He will likewise lead all marketing initiatives with the company's strategic partners and licensees, including Tandberg Data and Imation.

Williamsen joins ProStor Systems from Dot Hill Systems where he headed up marketing for the company's high-performance, modular enterprise storage platforms. Before that, he served as the senior director of strategic marketing and director of product marketing at McDATA Corporation, responsible for new technology and business initiatives and all aspects of product management and product marketing. Williamsen has also served in executive and managerial positions at Sun Microsystems, Connex Inc., Ridge Technologies, Adaptec Inc. and Dysan/Xidex Corp.

"Bob's broad experience in storage systems will be instrumental as we drive our enterprise-class RDX technology from entry-level backup into mid-tier and enterprise solutions," said ProStor Systems CEO and President Steve Georgis. Williamsen earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from San Jose State University, where he majored in marketing.
