BROOMFIELD, Colo.-- Plasmon (LSE:PLM), the trusted source in archiving systems, today launched the Archive Appliance Express developed specifically to address the needs of small-to-medium-sized medical businesses (SMBs). Plasmon is collaborating with value-added integrators in the medical field to bring the Archive Appliance Express to Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) offerings.

SMBs in the medical market have greater vulnerabilities because they cant afford to invest heavily in IT resources. However, these businesses have the same data compliance and storage needs as larger organizations. The introduction of the Archive Appliance Express is a direct response to the need for an archiving solution that easily manages the growing archive demands, requirements and constraints of a business without the complexity and cost of an enterprise-level product.

“SMBs want products that require very little manipulation. However, these organizations collect and store critical data and they must deal with the same compliance requirements as their counterparts in larger medical businesses,” said Mike Koclanes, Chief Strategy Officer and Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Plasmon. “By reducing complexity while maintaining the system reliability and data permanence for which Plasmon is known, the Archive Appliance Express will help medical customers address IT challenges while improving their operating performance.”
