PALO ALTO, Calif. -- PGP Corporation, a global leader in enterprise data security and encryption solutions, today announced upgrades to its product portfolio. The release also includes improved support for Lotus Notes users, increased support for additional European keyboards, and new technology to secure content on mobile devices and removable media such as USB flash drives. Committed to industry standards, supporting widely deployed technology platforms, and providing customers with multiple deployment options, PGP Corporation enables customers to strategically defend data wherever it exists.

PGP(R) technology is designed to meet customer requirements for rapidly deployable encryption solutions with consistent policy enforcement and key management, making it ideal for global organizations of all sizes across all industries.

Latest Ponemon Study Validates Demand for an Encryption Platform

A recent study conducted by The Ponemon Institute(C), sponsored by PGP Corporation, surveyed needs, motivations, uses, and strategies for protecting data with encryption. In the "2007 Annual Study: Enterprise Encryption Trends", respondents stated the most effective approach to defending their data was by adopting an encryption platform, which enables an organization to centrally manage and deploy multiple encryption applications with consistent policy enforcement. Of the 800 U.S. global IT and business personnel responding, 61 percent viewed an encryption platform as "important" or "very important". Survey participants also viewed an encryption platform as a key driver for reducing operational costs, increasing productivity, and eliminating redundant administrative tasks. In this latest update of the PGP Encryption Platform, all PGP applications, including the awarding-winning PGP(R) Whole Disk Encryption, are compatible with 32-bit editions of the Vista operating system, including Windows Vista Enterprise. PGP Corporation is a member of Microsoft's ISV Managed Partner Program and remains committed to offering customers an array of deployment options according to their preferred operating systems and platforms. New functionality in this release delivers policy-based encryption options for removable and non-bootable disks, enabling cross-platform sharing of encrypted media. This functionality eliminates the risk of data breaches from lost or stolen USB drives. PGP Corporation recently partnered with ControlGuard, a leading provider of endpoint security, to further extend this functionality. Other enhancements in this release include improved support for Lotus Notes users and PGP Whole Disk Encryption support forFrench- and Spanish-language keyboards."At PGP Corporation, we remain focused on making encryption technology easier and more approachable in every release of our products, so we're pleased to deliver this upgrade. Although many of our global customers have yet to deploy Microsoft Vista, they appreciate our ability to quickly deliver this compatibility across the PGP Encryption Platform, in no way delaying their likely evaluation of Vista," said Phillip Dunkelberger, president and CEO of PGP Corporation. "Organizations are looking for holistic solutions to defending their data and increasingly see value in the integrated approach we provide."
