CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Peak 10, Inc., the largest independent data center operator and managed services company in the eastern United States, today announced the acquisition of bayMountain, a Richmond, Va.-based data center company that specializes in managed hosting and colocation services. The acquisition expands Peak 10s geographic presence and enhances the company’s technical capabilities and service offerings, especially with regard to security, disaster recovery and business continuity. Peak 10 now owns and operates ten data centers in seven key market locations and boasts one of the industry’s most diverse product and managed services portfolio.

“The purchase of bayMountain aligns nicely with Peak 10’s business strategy of scaling our business through incremental acquisitions and consistent organic growth,” said David Jones, president and chief executive officer of Peak 10. “ The combination of several factors makes bayMountain an attractive acquisition. The company’s people and facility are world class and the Richmond market is strong and growing. Moreover, there are strong business links between Richmond and our other markets and, as well, the location provides Peak 10 with strategic access to Charlottesville, Northern Virginia and the Tidewater region.”
