AUSTIN, Texas -- The Neverfail Group (Neverfail), a global leader providing both a high availability solution and disaster recovery software, today announced Chicken of the Sea International has implemented Neverfail for Microsoft® Exchange. Chicken of the Sea chose Neverfail to ensure seamless availability of the company’s email environment while meeting their strict recovery time requirements.

As one of the top brands of canned tuna in the United States, Chicken of the Sea sought a more comprehensive disaster recovery solution following the economic impact of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita along the Gulf Coast. The San Diego-based company knew their location could mean devastating effects to the company, as well as its IT infrastructure, should an earthquake or major ocean storm occur. Prior to the implementation of Neverfail, Chicken of the Sea relied on tape backup technologies requiring off-site storage and retrieval. While generally effective, the process did not support the company’s recovery time objectives.

“As we have grown, Chicken of the Sea employees have come to depend on our email systems in order to do their jobs,” says Sunita Gossai, Network Administrator for Chicken of the Sea. “In the event of a planned outage or disaster, valuable hours could elapse before the availability of email is restored. With Neverfail however, I can ensure that Chicken of the Sea employees are continuously connected to a stable, reliable email environment that enables them to process orders and shipments in a timely manner.”

Neverfail for Exchange proactively monitors the health of an organization’s entire server environment including hardware, network infrastructure, operating system and an array of supported applications. Should an issue arise with an organization’s primary server environment, users are seamlessly redirected to the company’s redundant site until all issues have been resolved. The entire failover process is completely transparent to the end-user and does not require restarting email clients or applications.

“Email has evolved from a communication tool to a business-critical resource employees use to conduct every aspect of business,” said Dave French, Neverfail Americas CEO. “As email availability becomes an increasingly important business requirement, IT departments are faced with the task of ensuring continuous protection and accessibility. With Neverfail, Chicken of the Sea can feel confident knowing their email environment and end-users will continue to work during planned and unplanned outages.”Neverfail Group Ltd.
