iQstor Networks announces iQ2850 iSCSI storage system
November 29, 2007
NEWBURY PARK, Calif. -- iQstor Networks, Inc., a leading developer of intelligent and integrated Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions, today announced the iQ2850 iSCSI storage system developed to deliver automated IP SAN solutions with enterprise-level features including volume management-based virtualization, snapshot, mirroring, remote replication, storage provisioning and policy-driven capacity expansion at a cost-effective price point.
The iQ2850 iSCSI Storage System builds upon the companys successful iQ2880, taking its enterprise-class features and functionality -- including embedded intelligence, scalability and plug and play simplicity -- and adding the capability to easily deploy it within current data center network infrastructures to implement an IP SAN for better utilization of storage resources supporting storage applications such as backup and disaster recovery. The addition of the iQ2850 provides IT managers the ability to optimize their storage deployments cost-effectively by moving their data over IP networks using block-level storage systems to create and manage heterogeneous environments.
“We’ve designed the iQ2850 to address the market demand for a storage system that easily fits into an existing network infrastructure where the users don't need to invest in additional training and additional resources to implement iSCSI,” said Jason Lo, president and CEO of iQstor Networks. “iQ2850’s iSCSI connectivity offers fast throughput at up to 800MB/s per array and the system can scale to 240TB – more than enough storage for most online projects. The iQ2850 can be populated with FC or SATA disk drives to optimize performance or capacity and its embedded storage management software guarantees ease-of-use and management.”
