SANTA CLARA, Calif. and YOKNEAM, Israel -- Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ:MLNX)(TASE:MLNX), a leading supplier of semiconductor-based, server and storage interconnect products, today announced that its leading 20Gb/s InfiniBand adapters and switch product technology provides the unified I/O fabric in the HP BladeSystem for Oracle Optimized Warehouse. The HP 4X DDR IB Mezzanine HCA, based on Mellanox technology, provides the high-performance link for server-to-server and server-to-storage I/O connectivity through an integrated Mellanox-based HP 4X DDR IB Switch Module. The result is industry-leading I/O performance in the one terabyte to four terabyte data mart and data warehouse market served by the HP BladeSystem for Oracle Optimized Warehouse. This platform further expands InfiniBand into mainstream data center business applications for mission-critical, day-to-day tasks, and demonstrates the efficiency of InfiniBand interconnect to consolidate I/O traffic.

“Enterprises today require high server-to-server and server-to-storage bandwidth and low latency to fuel their increased reliance on compute intensive Oracle data warehouse applications such as inventory tracking, data mining, and business intelligence tools,” said Thad Omura, vice president of product marketing at Mellanox Technologies. “The Mellanox-based InfiniBand technology in the HP BladeSystem for Oracle Optimized Warehouse offers organizations exceptional scalability, flexibility, and consistent leading-edge I/O bandwidth throughput to enable faster complex analysis for time-critical, business decision making – all in a simple, easy to deploy, turnkey solution.”

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- HP (NYSE:HPQ) today introduced the industry’s highest-performance, most energy-efficient blade offering for the 1-to-4-terabyte market segment within the Oracle Optimized Warehouse initiative.

The HP BladeSystem for Oracle Optimized Warehouse builds on current reference configuration solutions available from HP and Oracle for data warehousing. Composed of HP BladeSystem (http://www.hp.com/go/bladesystem) and Oracle® Database, this pre-configured, appliance-like offering enables customers to invest more time and money in business innovation, rather than maintenance, by offering faster implementation times and better performance, with better energy efficiencies. With the new offering, medium- to large-size businesses can be ready to load data into their new data warehouses within hours instead of weeks.

HP worked closely with Oracle to create the joint offering, which provides customers with up to 2.5 times higher performance(1) and up to 65 percent reduced energy costs,(2) compared to other offerings within the Oracle initiative. Savings gained from performance and energy efficiency can offset the rising cost of power and tightening data center budgets.

“Customers are looking to harness information to drive profit and growth,” said Ben Barnes, vice president and general manager, Business Intelligence, HP. “With our new HP BladeSystem offering, along with a comprehensive business intelligence portfolio and a world-class services organization, HP is able to meet customers’ business intelligence needs today and into the future.”
