FALCONSTOR ACCOUNTS FOR CORNÈR BANCA’S STORAGE MANAGEMENT NEEDS WITH IPSTOR ENTERPRISE EDITION

FalconStor Software Inc. (NASDAQ: FALC), the market leader in disk-based data protection solutions, today announced that Cornèr Banca SA, a leading Swiss private banking institution, has deployed the FalconStor® IPStor® Enterprise Edition solution in its data centre. The solution, delivered in conjunction with FalconStor partner Sun Microsystems, delivers three key benefits of storage consolidation: easy data migration; security; and improved storage performance. Cornèr Banca also benefits from significantly reduced downtime.

Biasca Alberto, Storage Infrastructure Manager at Cornèr Banca, said: “The three major challenges that led us to FalconStor IPStor Enterprise Edition were a desire to fully exploit our existing hardware capacity through virtualisation, a need to improve our disaster recovery capability, and a requirement for simplified management – especially data and subsystem migration. There were two decisive factors that led us to choose FalconStor. First, the IPStor platform integrates with the solution delivered by our strategic storage supplier, Sun [StorageTek], which gave us a single point of contact for the entire project. Second, we liked the innovative architecture based on standard components; we like open standards and we don’t want to go down the proprietary route.”
