With this introduction, EVault is the industry’s first backup and recovery SaaS provider to offer comprehensive disaster recovery protection of VMware virtual machine environments, including all major operating systems, applications and files.

As the market for virtual server technology continues to grow, data protection tools have not kept pace, creating a gap in protection between physical and virtual environments. The EVault VMware Plug-in is the only solution that reliably protects the entire VMware virtual environment − automating hot backups and faster restores of virtual machines, operating systems, applications and files, while keeping resource consumption to a minimum and meeting specific disaster recovery planning and regulatory compliance requirements.

The EVault VMware Plug-in also complements EVault’s platform and application support, the most comprehensive in the market, to offer even more granular protection of both physical and virtual environments, including 32- and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows, Linux, Sun Solaris, Novell NetWare, HP-UX, IBM AIX and System i (formerly iSeries and AS/400), Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Clusters and Oracle.
