DALLAS -- QLogic Corp. (Nasdaq:QLGC), a leading supplier of high performance network infrastructure solutions, today announced that QLogic(r) 8000 Series converged network adapters (CNAs) for Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) networks are now qualified by EMC as E-Lab(tm) Tested for use with the new EMC(r) Connectrix(r) NEX-5020, EMC's first Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) switch.

With E-Lab qualification, customers can use QLogic CNAs, which interoperate seamlessly with EMC FCoE switches and Fibre Channel storage systems, to consolidate storage and data networks into a single platform. The highly comprehensive EMC E-Lab qualification process tests configurations that replicate real-world environments to help ensure customer satisfaction.

In addition, EMC now offers QLogic 8000 Series FCoE adapters as part of its EMC Select Program. EMC Select is designed to make it easier for customers to acquire best-in-class infrastructure products to complete their EMC storage solutions and to help enable businesses to implement information infrastructure solutions.

"The FCoE market continues to develop rapidly as evidenced by the general availability of EMC's first FCoE switch, based on Cisco technology," said Amit Vashi, vice president, QLogic Host Solutions Group. "QLogic FCoE adapters, the first available in the industry, have been rigorously qualified as E-Lab Tested with EMC Connectrix NEX-5020 switches, and interoperate seamlessly with EMC Fibre Channel storage systems, empowering customers with the ability to start consolidating their storage and data networks today."
