SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. -- Keeping pace with the growing customer adoption of Microsoft Cluster Services (MSCS), Double-Take Software (NASDAQ: DBTK) today announced several new features to its GeoCluster® product which include 64-bit support, integration of Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service, and improved shared data verification. GeoCluster, the only software on the market that integrates directly with MSCS to extend its capabilities, provides a high level of application availability through real-time data replication and failover.

GeoCluster functions by removing the single point of failure inherent in the shared-disk architecture of MSCS and maintaining a separate copy of the shared data on each node in the cluster. By replicating changes to this shared data using continuous byte-level replication the cluster nodes can be placed in different geographical locations, ensuring availability of the application in the event of a major disaster.

Keith Clayton, technical consultant at Steria Ltd commented, “At the time of implementing an Exchange solution for our Health Care project, Steria needed a product to eliminate the single point of failure common with MSCS in a shared single storage solution. Clayton continued, “Steria has been using GeoCluster for more than five years in this current project and I would highly recommend the product. Double-Take Software with its unparalleled partner programs, technical support and professional services make this the solution of choice.”
