Dot Hill Enhances 2730

SAN DIEGO -- Dot Hill Systems Corp. (Nasdaq: HILL), a market leader in providing flexible storage offerings and responsive service and support to OEMs and system integrators (SIs), today launched its 2730 Turbo RAID storage solution, the newest iteration of its high-performance, modular enterprise storage platform, the Dot Hill 2730.

The 2730 Turbo features a new processor chip that delivers a performance improvement of up to 40% over the 2730. The 2730 Turbo is ideal for key applications such as database, email, web server applications, backup (disk-to-disk), streaming (video, surveillance, and seismic), and Information Life Cycle (ILM) implementations. The enhancements drive data rates of up to 1154 MB/second sustained throughput, as well as transfer speeds of more than 124,000 IOPS, creating a new level of price/performance leadership.

The 2730 Turbo is the second release based on Dot Hill's Rapid Evolution (R/Evolution) architecture. This product demonstrates the superior modular scalability and features which results in higher return on investment (ROI) and lower total cost of ownership (TCO). The modular, dynamic system is designed to rapidly evolve and support OEM technology, enabling OEMs to quickly achieve sustainable competitive advantage in the Volume Storage Market.

The 2730 Turbo features four 4Gb Fibre Channel host interfaces, and a cost-effective design that utilizes redundant to provide continuous access to data. In addition, the 2730 Turbo offers scalability and flexibility, enabling customers to expand up to 56 high-performance SAS, low-cost SATA-II drives or any combination of the two for tiered storage implementations.The product leverages several unique patented and patent pending technologies collectively known as EcoStor™ that address today’s critical business needs and environmental requirements.
