DataCore Supports Citrix
DataCore SAN virtualization solutions support Citrix application delivery infrastructure with 'Go Anywhere' disks
October 22, 2007
LAS VEGAS -- DataCore Software, the leading vendor of hardware-independent, storage virtualization SAN solutions, today announced at the Citrix App Delivery Expo (Las Vegas, October 22 - 25, 2007) that it will showcase its virtual SAN storage solutions supporting Citrix application delivery infrastructure with "floating" virtual storage and ecological, cost-efficient, thin provisioning that automates and optimizes disk capacity use. These DataCore solutions also provide essential, enterprise-class, data management, business continuity and disaster protection. At the Citrix App Delivery Expo, DataCore(tm) will also feature and make available evaluation copies of its powerful UpTempo(tm) Performance Accelerator Software that accelerates IO and is fully compatible with the recently announced Citrix XenDesktop(tm) product line.
Application and Data Storage Delivery in a Dynamic World
"Citrix understands the challenges of application delivery in a dynamic world and DataCore understands how to make storage 'float,'" stated George Teixeira, CEO and president, DataCore Software. "In essence we do for storage what Citrix does for applications. Together, we deliver to users the applications and the data when, where and how they need it."
Virtual desktops and thin-client computing offer cost and efficiency benefits over traditional network architectures, but downtime and performance remain obstacles. DataCore virtual SANs enable efficient storage pooling, support automatic failover and recovery, and dramatically improve uptime and storage performance. In addition, DataCore recently announced a new version of UpTempo software that accelerates I/O for VDI, Exchange, SQL, Virtual Server and other disk-intensive Windows Server applications. UpTempo removes data bottlenecks that arise under virtual desktop infrastructures and virtual server solutions through a combination of an advanced disk block cache, a virtual I/O controller, and an I/O scheduler.
"Citrix XenDesktop makes the delivery of Windows desktops from the datacenter simple, secure and fast," said Mick Hollison, vice president, product management, Desktop Delivery Group, Citrix. "With Citrix and DataCore virtualization technology, our customers will get a high-performance solution for implementing virtual desktops."DataCore Software Corp.
