SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Brocade(R) (Nasdaq: BRCD), today announced the expansion of its industry-leading professional services offerings with a new family of Data Center Virtualization Services designed to optimize application and fabric performance, improve data protection, and unify management across the data center.

The new services address the needs of IT professionals who want to transform their existing data centers into consolidated, dynamic, next- generation infrastructures that incorporate advanced virtualization capabilities offered by companies such as VMware. Networked storage is an essential requirement in many virtualized environments, providing advanced capabilities such as data mobility. In fact, according to a recent Enterprise Strategy Group report, an estimated 86 percent of organizations that have deployed server virtualization have done so using networked storage resources.

"Virtualization provides significant business benefits such as reduced capital and operating expenses, improved business continuity, strengthened security, and increased energy efficiencies. But it is also an entirely new way of managing computing resources that requires customers to rethink how they design their data centers," said Hugues Meyrath, General Manager and Vice President, Brocade Services, Support, and Solutions Division. "Brocade Data Center Virtualization Services are designed to help customers architect their data centers so they can get the most out of virtualization to consolidate resources, reduce costs, and improve management of their server and storage infrastructures."
