CARY, N.C. -- Arsenal Digital Solutions USA, Inc., the leader in on-demand data protection, today announced new enhanced virtual servers capabilities for ViaRemote. Available as a core component of its ViaRemote platform, the capability enables companies to enjoy the business and technology benefits available from virtualizing servers, such as consolidated backup operations and faster restores, while reducing the cost and complexity of protecting data on those virtualized server platforms, such as VMware.

The solution is integrated with Arsenal’s unique s3® architecture and is available as a standard capability of the ViaRemote service offering. The capability handles both file and block level data for leading virtual server environments across all major operating systems. In addition, ViaRemote for virtual servers now enables an industry leading two-stage de-duplication technology process and a level of service capability and integration unmatched in the market.

According to International Data Corporation, in 2007 approximately half of the world’s 4.2 million servers will be virtualized. Greater than 50 percent of these virtual servers are running business-critical applications like databases and email.
