HP ProCurve Delivers NAC, ID Management Upgrades

Vendor addresses network threat management, access control, identity management.

Hewlett-Packard unveiled a series of new and upgraded network security offerings this week that target threat management, access control and identity management.The vendor extended the scope of its ProActive Defense security suite with the new ProCurve Network Immunity Manager, which detects and responds to threats such as virus attacks.

HP is also adding endpoint protection with its new ProCurve Network Access Controller 800 appliance, which verifies system integrity before granting devices access to network resources.

Meanwhile, on the identity management front, the vendor is updating its ProCurve Identity Driven Manager to work with the network access controller to ensure that only authorized users are allowed on the network.

The ProCurve Network Immunity Manager, priced from just under $5,000, will ship on June 1. ProCurve Network Access Controller and ProCurve Identity Driven Manager 2.2 will be available in the third quarter.
