ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- South River Technologies, Inc. (SRT), an innovator in secure file transfer and collaboration software, announced today a technology partnership with ParaScale, a cloud storage software company. The partnership provides a complete standards-based solution for accessing data in the cloud.

SRT's WebDrive, a Universal File Access client, facilitates access to files on remote servers. ParaScale's Cloud Storage (PCS) software enables companies and service providers to build large storage clouds that can be accessed remotely, offering customers cost and security benefits. WebDrive creates an intuitive access point to files stored in ParaScale's storage cloud. Both companies have standardized on the WebDAV protocol to facilitate access and collaboration on important business data, while adhering to common internet standards.

"As cloud computing architectures evolve, it is imperative that vendors focus on standards at all levels," said Daniel Sholler, VP of Research at Gartner. "These include web standards, middleware standards and communication standards."
