OMAHA, Neb.(BUSINESS WIRE) First National Technology Solutions (FNTS), a subsidiary of First National of Nebraska, the largest privately owned U. S. banking company, has added Cloud Computing capabilities to its wide range of hosted and remote managed services, announced Kenneth J. Kucera, Chief Executive Officer.

"My vision for FNTS is to have a full suite of Cloud offerings embracing the latest trends within virtualization, including servers, desktops, storage and networking. FNTS is well-positioned to be extremely competitive with these offerings and in the managed services industry, based on our solid track record of delivering a high quality of service to our clients," said Kucera. "We will continue to enhance our current service offerings to ensure we are bringing the best-of-breed to our clients to leverage."

He added that FNTS wants to continue to offer flexibility to its clients, giving them the option to utilize its shared and virtualized infrastructure where it fits, but also being able to support dedicated infrastructure components as required. "Cloud computing is a fully scalable, secure, virtualized hosting option that can lower a company's overall capital investments in both hardware and development costs, while supporting business growth," Kucera said. "It's perfect for businesses who want to cut costs and be able to scale with additional capacity as required, based on server and network utilization."

Key advantages include being able to pay only for the capacity used, available on-demand capacity, elimination of costly network expenditures via secure Internet access, and the ability to "go green" with virtual capacity. The FNTS Cloud Computing suite includes Server by the Slice and Enterprise Cloud options, offering the choice between single server resources from its virtual server farm or sharing capacity among multiple servers within a customer's own "cloud cluster."

Operating systems supported within the FNTS Cloud suite include Mainframe (z/OS), Unix (AIX, Solaris x86), Windows and Linux (Red Hat and SUSE). Additional services and benefits include storage and backup services, networking, software licensing, 24-7 customer support, account management and engineering team, patch and system administration and server management and monitoring.A significant element of FNTS' capabilities is its First National Technology Center, a tier IV, 195,000-square-foot facility that is recognized as a world-class facility located in Omaha, Nebraska. The data center is complete with redundant power sources, facility monitoring, state-of-the-art security, and constructed to withstand high-velocity environmental impacts. The technology center and its services meet PCI DSS compliance requirements in addition to being IBM Certified.
