EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Xiotech Corporation announced several new customers signed contracts for the Xiotech Magnitude 3D® 3000 and Magnitude® 750 storage systems. New customers include Apollo Information Services Inc., the Archdiocese of St. Louis, Century College (White Bear Lake, Minn.), DISA Inc. (Data, Integrity, Security, Administration), Kansas State Department of Education, UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing) and Weiss Group Inc.

The new contracts reinforce the appeal of the Magnitude virtualized platform for midsized organizations looking for a simple-to-manage storage system that can easily accommodate future growth.

For the Kansas State Department of Education, the time was right for a jump from direct-attached storage to a storage area network (SAN). The organization sought reliable and easy access to critical data for reporting and business intelligence needs including accountability and financial information. The department reassessed its storage infrastructure last year as it began building a new enterprise data system and data center.

"We were storing our data on tower servers with some direct-attached storage, and sought the benefits of a SAN system," said Mike McCormick, information technology consultant III, Kansas State Department of Education. "Magnitude 3D 3000 will provide our organization the ease-of-use and manageability we require."
